InterActive Legal is pleased to announce that Letha S. McDowell, CELA, has accepted its position of Special Advisor on Elder Law Planning. Letha joins Stephen J. Silverberg, CELA, former Chairman of NAELA, who also serves in this position.
Ms. McDowell currently practices law in the Raleigh Durham area of North Carolina, counseling those of great wealth, and, as an elder lawyer, those who have arrived at retirement years with limited assets on the complicated web of state and federal laws, and requirements governing the programs our government and states provide for the elderly. Ms. McDowell recently joined the law firm of Walker Lambe Rhudy Costley & Gill to work primarily in the Garner/Johnston County office (Durham). She is licensed by the Virginia State Bar and North Carolina State Bar. She is also certified as an Elder Law Attorney by the National Elder Law Foundation and Board Certified as a specialist in Elder Law by the North Carolina State Bar.
Letha’s contribution is invaluable as her practice mirrors InterActive Legal’s focus, of estate planning, elder law, long-term care planning, estate and trust administration, asset protection planning, small business planning and tax law. In addition, Letha is accredited for preparation, presentation and prosecution of claims for Veterans’ Benefits and approved to practice before the US Court of Appeals for Veterans’ Claims.
