The whole course was organized and presented in a way that built from foundational concepts to the variations and exceptions. I highly recommend this course.

Comment: This is my second time through the ILS Estate Planning Academy — I’m a firm believer that repetition is the secret to learning. And there is much to learn for both new and current practitioners in the estate planning field. The eight main teaching sessions are chock-full of up-to-date information about federal and related state tax laws, practical planning strategies, and expert insight from a team of very skilled and highly experienced presenters. Each week concludes with a Q&A session and drafting workshop with examples of the planning concepts that were discussed during that week’s sessions. Admittedly, the amount of content provided in this series is like drinking from the proverbial firehose, but thankfully all of the course materials and slideshows can be downloaded for later review, and are quite thorough and well organized. As someone who is working to build this dimension of my practice, I feel like I got significant value for the investment of money and time to attend this webinar series, and would enthusiastically recommend it to others.

I enjoyed how the courses built upon one another allowing for someone with little knowledge to have a good foundation prior to diving into the harder to grasp concepts and estate planning. Comment: I have now taken both the Basics and Tax Planning courses offered from Interactive Legal Academy. The material made available is excellent, and the presentations cover an extensive array of knowledge. I know that what I’m being taught is authoritative and features some of the industry’s best thinking. There really aren’t many options for a full course on estate planning, and definitely nothing so affordable. Teresa Bush deserves a great deal of credit for how she has helped put these all together.

Comment: As a solo practitioner, participating in the Estate Planning Basic Series is an investment in my legal education. It helped me to refresh legal concepts, validate procedures, and learn new ways to work more efficiently. From each speaker, I got a new perspective to handle my daily work and expand my knowledge. It is a great tool to keep you on your path to success!

Comment: I’ve taken many CLEs over the past few years geared to those new to estate planning. Most of them assume too much prior knowledge and dive in in the middle of things. Or, if they are basic enough, they aren’t nearly comprehensive enough. The ILS Basics course is the best I’ve taken because it did not assume any prior knowledge, and it is also comprehensive and puts everything in context. It’s the course I would recommend someone new to estate planning take first.

Comment: The Estate Planning Tax Series was outstanding! This is a great course for those familiar with estate, gift, and GST tax concepts, but who need either a refresher course or a detailed explanation of specific concepts. It is also a great primer for those who litigate in the trust arena and need an explanation of A/B trusts. The course explains the purpose and mechanics of various planning techniques such as credit shelter trusts and QTIP trusts. It also touches on income tax treatment of trusts as well as basis planning techniques. The presenters are top-notch, and the course materials alone are worth the tuition. Regardless of your skill or experience level, I’m certain you will learn something new that will benefit your practice. I highly recommend!

Comment: ILA’s Estate Planning Tax Series was the perfect introduction to higher level estate tax planning. I would recommend it for estate planners looking to handle larger estates and also for established planners that need a general refresh on their knowledge base.

Comment: InterLegal did a fabulous job of breaking down the seminar into seemingly simple sessions and providing an overall view of this very broad and complex subject. The topics, skillfully woven, touched upon almost all areas/types of trust making it very simple and easy to follow. Your flow of information/building on sessions was very logical and clear. I did miss, however, not having an opportunity of ‘on-the-spot’ questions. I hope InterLegal will now consider also conducting more focused, specialized, and in-depth training programs such as on 706’6, 709’s, SLATs etc.

Comment: Estate taxation has always been my weakest knowledge area. I have read books and articles and attended other trainings, but after attending the InterActive Legal Academy Estate Planning Tax Series, I feel comfortable that I finally have a solid foundation on estate taxation when I counsel my clients. I will go back and re-watch some of the episodes to further strengthen my comprehension, but this training proved to be relevant, understandable, and totally worth the investment.

Comment:The Interactive Legal Tax Planning Course exceeded my expectations. It was substantive and well presented. I would enthusiastically recommend it for experienced trusts and estates attorneys like myself, but also for any attorney who does estate planning work. In addition, as the former national director of wealth planning for one of the largest planning groups in the wealth management industry, I believe this course would be excellent for trust officers, wealth planners, and others who work with estate planning generally, and trusts, in particular. Comment: Both the materials (slides and detailed outlines) were well done and easy to understand. The various speakers about 7 or so, all knew their stuff. I have been in this field for decades and have an LL.M. in tax since 1983 and thought it was well done for the new person and the old timer like myself. And, not without great merit, the program cost was incredibly reasonable. Loved the sample language in the workshops. That by itself was worth the price of admission, A legitimate 5 out of 5

Comment: The Academy’s overview and coverage of planning techniques, especially the outlines are useful tools that I will refer to in future matters. Video instruction is outstanding. I would recommend this course to any firm, whether the firm’s planning matters are basic or advanced.

Comment: Although this course may be geared towards those attorneys new to tax planning, I recommend it for all attorneys practicing estate planning, even those with experience advising on tax planning matters. I have been an estate planner for 10+ years, and I found the course to be relevant, thorough, and helpful! The instructors are obviously knowledgeable and qualified, and the content and materials are of the highest quality. The website, technology, and back office support from Interactive Legal were all superb. I would recommend this course to any estate planning attorney!
