“Interactive Legal has been the game changer for my practice. The quality of the work product produced is incredible, the constant educational webinars, and the forum feedback has grown my practice from a simple estate planning practice to serving clients with complex and sophisticated issues. It might sound cheesy, but I feel part of a family and every time I call in for something, I feel like the IL representative has a genuine interest in helping me. Linda is awesome, IT support is incredible, and you need to take out a 10M keyman policy on Teresa--she is incredibly knowledgeable, always very professional and friendly, and extremely patient. ”

Lewis J. Saret

“I have been an ILS subscriber for well over a decade and I love the ILS service. The benefits I’ve experienced include the following: (1) the ILS service has made me a better lawyer because I’ve learned so much from the software, the discussion board, and the included webinars and other resources; (2) drafting using the software is very efficient, much more so than using model documents; and (3) I have a greater sense of security and risk management knowing the documents are constantly updated and by the responsiveness of the discussion board and other resources that ILS makes available to users. All in all, I cannot imagine practicing without it.”

“I have been an ILS subscriber for over 11 years and find the service invaluable to my estate planning practice. You not only have access to a variety of forms that are customizable and updated on a regular basis, but you also have access to their library of work and the listserv. Where else can you have access to replies from Jonathan Blattmachr, Howard Zaritsky and Natalie Choate among others. I have and will continue to recommend ILS to fellow attorneys. Well worth the price of admission.”

Amos Goodall

"An attorney practicing elder law without the benefit of sophisticated software is foolhardy. On the other hand, an attorney who blindly plugs a client’s information into canned forms does his clients a disservice. InterActive Legal, with its unparalleled support and comprehensive draft documents that are fully and easily customized to fit clients’ personal situations, allows me to practice law efficiently and effectively. My clients deserve no less."

H. Amos Goodall, Jr., Esquire, LL.M., CELA
Goodall & Yurchak, P.C. - State College, PA

R. Hal Moorman

"I have been using InterActive Legal for a number of years. Like any technology, there is a learning curve, but they have an excellent staff to help you when you can’t figure something out. The forms can be as sophisticated or as simple as you desire. Because it is a system, it prompts you to make decisions as you do your drafting. If you don’t understand the question, the system has a tutorial to help you understand why it is asking you a question. The system is upgraded on a continual basis. I highly recommend it."

Dale Ann Kaiser

"I researched all the estate planning drafting systems on the market before purchasing ILS Wealth Transfer Planning. It is by far the best drafting system in terms of both the estate planning documents themselves and the resources and expertise available to users. ILS allows me to do sophisticated documents and, as a side benefit, I also use ILS for research and education."

Post-Election Estate Planning What to Do For Clients In November and December of 2020

Speakers: Jonathan G. Blattmachr, Esq., Robert Keebler, CPA, and Martin M. Shenkman, Esq.

The 2020 election demonstrated that the projected Democratic sweep did not occur. Former Vice President Biden won the Presidency, but that is still being challenged. The Republicans have control of the Senate it appears, but two runoff elections in Georgia in January 2021 may provide the Democrats a chance to pick up two additional seats making the Senate evenly split between Democrats and Republicans. What does this all mean to clients that were engaged in planning in anticipation of the Blue Wave that did not happen?

What Should Estate Planners Do Now? An InterActive Legal Post-Election Video Roundtable Event

Election Day 2020 is now behind us. As of this writing, most election results are in, though opinions vary about when we will know the full makeup and distribution of power between the Executive and Legislative branches. Court challenges, recounts, and run-offs all move forward, with the latter not taking place until January. Given that we may not have certainty for weeks (and in some cases months), estate tax planners charged with advising their clients on how to proceed for the balance of the year are in a bit of limbo. Advisors must determine whether to recommend taking action now or wait for more information, and come up with a plan for going forward after all results are finalized.

Evolving Roles in Trust Planning: Advising Fiduciaries, Non-Fiduciaries, and Those in Between – a Live Video Roundtable Discussion

The trust, as a legal concept, has existed for centuries, yet arguably the most significant developments in trusts have occurred in the last few decades. Due to the efforts of the estate planning community, clients now have a better understanding of the benefits offered by trusts, and more clients from a broader range of demographics are adopting trusts as part of their estate plan. This increase in trust use, and a shift in focus to a more collaborative, legacy-focused approach to planning, has also driven the demand for flexibility in trust drafting and administration.
