SUMMARY:Serving Hispanic Families with Compassionate Estate Planning: Practical Insights for Advisors
DESCRIPTION:Complimentary Webinar: Future of the Estate Planning Profession\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n\n\n\n	\n \n \n \n View Recording\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Webinar Description \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Build Trust and Deliver Compassionate Estate Planningfor Hispanic Families \n Hispanic families are one of the fastest-growing communities in the U.S.—but unique cultural values around family\, inheritance\, and faith can complicate traditional estate planning. This program will feature a discussion with Sonia Muñoz Gallagher\, Esq.\, and estate and special needs attorney in Florida\, exploring the intersection of estate planning and administration and cultural sensitivity when advising Hispanic families.  This session will highlight the growing need for estate planning among Hispanic clients and unpack key considerations such as multigenerational households\, bilingual communication challenges\, immigration and cross-border inheritance issues\, informal asset ownership\, and religious and community values that shape decision-making.  \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Amongst some clients there may be a cultural reluctance to discuss death. How can that be addressed? Catholic traditions are important to many Hispanic clients. This might affect donations to their church and broader charitable planning\, burial wishes\, and more. Caretaking expectations may rely more often on a parent’s daughters. What might that mean to planning?  \n Estate planning attorneys will gain practical tips for building trust\, navigating complex family structures\, and addressing legal misunderstandings with compassion and clarity. Don’t miss this opportunity to deepen your cultural competence and better serve a vital and expanding client base—register now to honor Hispanic heritage while enhancing your practice skills. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n View Recording\n \n This program will also acknowledge Hispanic Heritage Month which runs from 9/15-10/15 and is a national observance recognizing the histories\, cultures\, and contributions of Americans whose ancestors came from Spain\, Mexico\, the Caribbean\, and Central and South America. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Our Speakers \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Martin M. SUMMARY:ILS Speaker Series: Estate Planning When Estate Taxes Don’t Matter
DESCRIPTION:View Recording\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Webinar Description \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n After years of speculation about what would happen with the estate (and gift) tax exemption\, we now have some clarity.  Things can always change\, but at the moment\, federal estate taxation has become irrelevant for most clients.  This means estate planning could fall off their radar.   \n Yet even without a tax component\, estate planning remains a necessary endeavor for any client who owns any type of property – both to permit the most efficient transfer of that property to the desired recipients at death and to plan for management in the event of incapacity. \n This webinar will consider what estate planners can recommend to potential clients of all levels of wealth who don’t need to plan for estate taxation\, but still need to plan: \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n The bottom line – having an estate plan in place removes a huge burden after death\n An estate plan can protect assets from predators and creditors\n Clients with high – but not ultra-high – net worth should have a back-up plan in case the exemption drops\n State estate taxation still matters\, and a good estate plan can cover that too – even for clients who don’t currently reside in a decoupled state.\n \n \n \n As part of this discussion\, we will look at pros and cons of different approaches\, including leaving property outright or in trust\, and contingency plans: disclaimers\, Clayton QTIPs\, portability\, and more. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n InterActive Legal Speaker Series Presents \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Teresa L. SUMMARY:OBBBA Part 5: Basis\, NonGrantor Trusts and More: 2 Hour Deep Dive on Post-OBBBA Planning
DESCRIPTION:Complimentary Webinar: Basis Planning After OBBBA\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n\n\n\n	\n \n \n \n Register Now\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Webinar Description \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n The OBBBA has reshaped trust and tax planning\, raising new questions and opportunities for practitioners. This two-hour program will examine whether life insurance in trusts should be surrendered or repurposed\, how basis planning is affected\, and when (if ever) to unwind trusts for a step-up in basis. We’ll address incomplete vs. complete gifts\, Kiddie Tax concerns\, and state law opportunities such as Community Property Trusts and JESTs. The session also explores income shifting with non-grantor trusts\, DNI and 643(f) challenges\, charitable deduction strategies post-OBBBA\, and key considerations when converting grantor to non-grantor trusts. \n Attendees will leave with practical\, actionable insights for navigating post-OBBBA planning with confidence. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Register Now\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Meet Our Speakers \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Jonathan G. Shenkman\, Esq.InterActive Legal Advisor \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Complimentary OBBBA Webinar Series  \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Part 1: One Big Beautiful Estate Planning Webinar – What to do Now \n \n \n Discover how the newly enacted Big Beautiful Bill (“BBB”)—officially\, the One\, Big\, Beautiful Bill Act—will reshape the landscape for estate planners. In this webinar\, nationally recognized attorneys Jonathan Blattmachr\, Alan Gassman\, and Martin Shenkman break down the BBB’s 14 most impactful tax provisions\, explain their direct and indirect implications for estate planning\, and outline practical strategies you can implement right away. Whether your practice centers on traditional estate planning or sophisticated transfer tax work\, understanding the BBB’s sweeping changes is essential. Watch the full session below to stay ahead of the curve. \n \n \n \n \n \n Part 2: OBBBA’s New Rules Change Charitable Planning: Non-Grantor Trusts and Other Strategies to Maximize Benefits \n \n \n Discover how the One\, Big\, Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA) is reshaping charitable planning. In this Hot Topic webinar\, leading estate planning attorneys Martin Shenkman\, Jonathan Blattmachr\, Alan Gassman\, and Robert Keebler break down OBBBA’s most impactful charitable provisions and share advanced strategies—like leveraging non-grantor trusts and CRTs—to maximize income tax benefits. Stay ahead of these sweeping changes with actionable insights you can implement now. \n \n \n \n \n \n Part 3: OBBBA’s New Rules Change Charitable Planning: Non-Grantor Trusts\,  Sec. 68(e)\, and Other Post-OBBBA Planning Considerations \n \n \n OBBBA made a myriad of changes to the tax law. The indirect planning implications are quite significant. This webinar assumes attendees are already familiar with the basic OBBBA changes and will build on that with a discussion of how and when non-grantor trusts may be used\, sometimes differently\, in planning post-OBBBA. In particular\, we will cover the repeal of Code Section 68(e) and the application of the new 2/37ths reduction in charitable contribution deductions to trusts. What impact will that change have on existing trusts that have charitable beneficiaries? How will charitable lead trusts be affected? What should trustees of such trusts consider? The use of non-grantor trusts to enhance charitable contribution deductions will still make sense for many taxpayers\, but practitioners should caution clients pursuing that planning of the implications of the new 2/37 reduction. For some clients using QCDs\, bunching\, or other planning techniques may be preferable.  \n \n \n \n \n \n Part 4: Basis Planning Post OBBBA \n \n \n With OBBBA’s new $15M exemption\, many clients will no longer face federal estate tax\, shifting the focus toward income tax basis planning. In this session\, leading estate planners will explore upstream and downstream strategies\, reconciling basis step-up planning with traditional trust structures\, and discussing options for revising existing plans. Learn how to use powers of appointment\, adjust credit shelter trusts and SLATs\, and adapt gift planning to the post-OBBBA landscape. \n \n \n \n \n View OBBBA Webinar Series\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Webinar Tips \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n After registering\, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar.\n Please note that space is limited in the live broadcast\, and we therefore recommend that you join early. Clients are becoming more interested in this topic\, and this presentation will focus on the tax implications in detail. \n In this webinar\, attorney Sebastian Orozco will provide a detailed examination of U.S. tax issues affecting individuals who expatriate under the framework of Section 877A of the Internal Revenue Code and the newly finalized Section 2801 regulations.  He’ll outline the definitions and criteria for classification as a covered expatriate\, and the resulting tax consequences\, including the mark-to-market exit tax regime\, the treatment of pre-expatriation gifting\, and beneficial interests in trusts.   \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n We’ll learn about compliance requirements\, such as dual-status tax returns and Form 8854—including some of the penalties for non-compliance. Special attention will be given to the treatment of deferred compensation\, nongrantor trusts\, and tax-deferred accounts\, offering practical guidance for navigating the final year of U.S. tax residency. \n The materials also will explore strategic planning opportunities for long-term residents who are considering expatriation\, including treaty-based residency elections and pre-expatriation gifting strategies. The implications of the Section 2801 tax on covered gifts and bequests will be covered\, detailing how the tax is calculated\, reported\, and enforced. Examples will illustrate the tax treatment of distributions from domestic and foreign nongrantor trusts\, and the complexities that surround them. \n \n View Recording\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n InterActive Legal Speaker Series Presents \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Sebastian Orozco Segrera \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Webinar Tips \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n After registering\, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar.\n Please note that space is limited in the live broadcast\, and we therefore recommend that you join early. SUMMARY:OBBBA Part 4: Basis Planning Post OBBBA
DESCRIPTION:Complimentary Webinar: Basis Planning After OBBBA\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n\n\n\n	\n \n \n \n View Recording\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Webinar Description \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n OBBBA changes how advisers should look at estate planning. Many clients will no longer face a Federal estate tax with the new $15M permanent exemption. As a result\, income tax planning\, and in particular maximizing income tax basis\, may be a focus of increased attention\, which triggers several questions: \n \n \n • In addition to upstream planning with GPOAs\, what about downstream planning with gifts?• How do we reconcile that basis step up planning may conflict with traditional planning strategies of keeping assets in trust for a surviving spouse and others?• What can be done with existing credit shelter trusts\, SLATs\, and other irrevocable trusts that are outside of anyone’s gross estate?• Can – and should – existing estate tax plans be unraveled?• How can powers of appointment be effectively used to increase options for basis step up?• Can upstream as well as downstream planning be used?• How will gift planning be different\, after OBBBA? \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Join us for an online webinar to consider these questions and the post-OBBBA planning shift. \n \n View Recording\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Meet Our Speakers \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Jonathan G. \n \n \n \n \n View OBBBA Webinar Series\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Webinar Tips \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n After registering\, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar.\n Please note that space is limited in the live broadcast\, and we therefore recommend that you join early. The settlor had some foot faults in the administration of the trust and the trust owned other entities\, but neither of those facts were fatal to the positive result. The court upheld the DAPT even though the settlor served as the trust’s investment advisor and as manager of real estate LLCs owned by the trust. This program will review the recent Delaware case and evaluate its import to asset protection planning generally.  The speakers will analyze the facts in the case and make specific recommendations to practitioners as to how to implement similar plans in the future. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n View Recording\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Meet Our Speakers \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Jonathan G. SUMMARY:Speaker Series Webinar POSTPONED-Cutting the Cord: Tax Implications of Expatriation
DESCRIPTION:Due to unforeseen circumstances\, “Cutting the Cord:  Tax Implications of Expatriation” is being postponed to a later date. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause\, and hope to see you at the rescheduled event. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n\n\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n Webinar Description \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Please join us for the next installment in the InterActive Legal Speaker Series on a topic that may be foreign to some of us – expatriation. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n InterActive Legal Speaker Series Presents \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Sebastian Orozco Segrera \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Webinar Tips \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n After registering\, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar.\n Please note that space is limited in the live broadcast\, and we therefore recommend that you join early. DESCRIPTION:Register NOW \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n	Complimentary Webinar: Future of the Estate Planning Profession\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n\n\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Webinar Description \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n The One\, Big\, Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA) will have a significant impact on a myriad of code provisions.  \n What does OBBBA mean for charitable planning? The new rules are only the tip of the charitable planning iceberg\, including an above-the-line contribution deduction\, contribution carry over rules\, permanently extending the 60% limit for cash contributions to qualified charities\, increased standard deduction\, 2/37 itemized deduction haircut\, excise tax on certain large university endowments\, tax credit for scholarships\, contribution limitation on corporations\, and more. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n This webinar will review the specific chartable changes made by OBBBA but go deeper to present various strategies designed to maximize income tax benefits – including charitable and other deductions – using non-grantor trusts and other charitable planning techniques. The speakers will consider the questions below\, and more: \n \n \n \n							 How can non-grantor trusts be used to enhance contribution deductions?\n What other income shifting strategies may be useful?\n What should taxpayers do in 2025?\n How might CRTs facilitate planning for the new QOZ benefits?\n What impact could OBBBA’s changes have on charitable giving?\n How should practitioners expand their guidance to address charitable planning for the large group of clients\, including ultra-high net worth taxpayers\, who may realize no income tax benefit from charitable donations?\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Register Now\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Meet Our Speakers \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Jonathan G. SUMMARY:OBBBA Part 1: One Big Beautiful Estate Planning Webinar - What to do Now
DESCRIPTION:Register NOW \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n	Complimentary Webinar: Well-Being Trusts: Beyond Distribution Standards\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n\n\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Webinar Description \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n The Big Beautiful Bill (BBB)\, or The One\, Big\, Beautiful Bill (OBBBA) is now law. What does this mean for estate and tax planning? \n First\, an overview of the 14 largest tax benefits contained in the BBB will be presented. Even those focusing solely on estate planning need some understanding of the incredible scope of the BBB on the nation’s tax system. This webinar focuses on the “Big Beautiful Bill” and its significant provisions directly and indirectly affecting estate planning. The program discusses various strategies to maximize income tax benefits using non-grantor trusts and charitable planning. Post-BBB protecting assets\, securing income tax benefits and safeguarding assets before the future changes if there is a change of control in Washington\, are all important.  \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n What are the implications of changes to estate planning? This is not just about the increased and “permanent” $15 million exemption. Planning will focus on non-grantor SLANTs and other non-grantor trust structures\, enhanced use of trust protectors and powers of appointment. Upstream planning and other steps to maximize basis step up will all be relevant and are reviewed in this program. The need for flexible planning strategies that can adapt to potential future changes in tax laws\, with a focus on preserving trust access and maximizing income tax savings for clients across various wealth levels will be discussed. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Register Now\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Meet Our Speakers \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Jonathan G. SUMMARY:Complimentary Webinar - Well-Being Trusts: Beyond Distribution Standards
DESCRIPTION:Complimentary Webinar: Well-Being Trusts: Beyond Distribution Standards\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n	\n\n\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Webinar Description \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n While trusts have always been created to protect beneficiaries\, more can be done to help beneficiaries benefit from the wealth that is bequeathed not actually “to” them\, but for them.  So-called “Well-Being Trusts” are consistent with a growing trend to be more inclusive of what can – and perhaps should – be provided for beneficiaries of trusts\, beyond just making distributions.   \n Delaware\, as it often does\, has lead the charge on this new approach to trust drafting and administration by enacting a new Well-Being Trust statue.  It is an “opt in” provision that drafters can incorporate into new trust documents and include in existing trusts via decanting or non-judicial modification.  In this webinar\, the speakers will discuss the Delaware Well-Being Trust statute and the various issues it raises (not the least of which is potential trustee liability).  Other important issues include: \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Income tax considerations\, such as whether payment for programs for beneficiaries qualifies as a trust administrative expense or carries out DNI\n Using a letter of wishes\n Custom provisions practitioners might include\n Conflicts that could arise in some situations\, such as if a beneficiary is addicted to drugs\n The need for mechanisms to change trustees and/or the terms of the trust.\n Please note that space is limited in the live broadcast\, and we therefore recommend that you join early. Those connecting late may not be able to participate in the live event. However\, if you find that you cannot connect\, you will receive a link to the recorded version as soon as possible after the live presentation has concluded.\n If you are interested in an InterActive Legal Webinar but you are unable to attend the live event\, we recommend that you register for the event anyway. After the presentation\, all registered participants receive a link to the recorded version of the presentation to view at their convenience.\n Visit our website event page to learn more about what is happening at InterActive Legal.\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Although everyone wants more wealth\, history demonstrates that excess wealth can actually be an inhibitor of creativity and personal fulfillment.  A Well-Being Trust can empower beneficiaries rather than restricting them\, allowing trustees to focus on helping beneficiaries flourish in different ways.  Regardless of the type of trust or jurisdiction involved\, the ideas behind the Well Being Trust can help transform trust practice and administration.  \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n View Recording\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Meet Our Speakers \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Jonathan G.
