Drafting Options for Descendants (and Other Non-Spouse Beneficiaries)
September 30 @ 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm EDT
Subscriber Drafting Webinars provide continued training on various aspects of using the InterActive Legal software, usually focusing on drafting particular documents or using certain drafting options. These webinars are free to ILS subscribers. They provide insight and training regarding specific documents and options available within the drafting systems. Subscribers will receive an email outlining the topic of each drafting webinar with instructions for registration.
With estate tax exemptions remaining high – except in a few select states – estate tax planning is not a priority for many clients. However, how property passes to one’s family remains a driving force behind client estate planning decisions. Understanding the wide variety of options that are available automatically in InterActive Legal will help you draft client documents more efficiently. In this webinar, we will review all ways in which property can pass to descendants and other non-spouse beneficiaries, including leaving property in various types of trusts, and the various ways in which those continuing trusts can be structured.
As part of this presentation, we will review options for leaving property in testamentary documents to descendants equally, to descendants in different shares, to nieces and nephews, and other recipients. The drafting options to be discussed are available in all practice systems.
